Moved off the raspberry pi 3b and migrated all the containers over to a late 2014 mac mini. It’s a significant upgrade with 4x more RAM and a faster cpu. But now I don’t know what to do with the pi so it’s going to take a long nap until the day comes where it’s services are needed.

Creating the DNS record on the host provider Spaceship was easy enough. Setting up Caddy as a reverse proxy so I can access this website was a different story. It took a lot of ChatGPT diagnosing to get it done but it got done. Accidentally messed up when I was configuring HTTPS and now I have to wait until the 17th, that’s when Let’s Encrypt will issue out another ssl certificate. Oops. Something I learned today, the admin page for WordPress is accessible to anyone on the internet. I checked on George RR Martin’s website and sure enough I could get to the login page. I didn’t like that so I’m going to prevent that admin page from being accessible to the internet for my domain.

So I’m using WordPress to create this site. I have it (WordPress) running on my raspberry pi in a container. It’s my first time using it in this manner so it took a bit to get running. This is running locally for now but I’ll eventually connect it to my domain and make it accessible to the internet. Honestly, I didn’t even know WordPress could be used standalone on your own server. I thought you had to sign up and use it on the website but with knowledge comes monetary savings.
